| 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful  Getting started with Gary, By This review is from: Story So Far (Audio CD) So one problem I notice with Gary, is he has a large catalogue of music from the late 70's to today. That can be quite a challange not only for a beginner (like myself), but on the pocket book. How does somebody new to Gary's body of work cover as many of his songs and albums, and paint part of the picture of his career, making the rest of his albums and live recordings open for a new collector? This might be the collection for you, but at least you don't feel that 30 years of Gary are being shoved in your brain. I had a feeling, I wasn't getting every hit from every album, but to be fair, it was a decent way to start. If somebody was already is a Numanoid, maybe they'll feel they don't need this collection. One thing I would have prefered, was more information on who produced some of the songs, and more clear information on which song came from which album. Only the live disc will give you most of his hits that you might be familiar with (Cars, down in the park, I die, you die, etc),... Read more |
